PES 18: YEOVIL : SQUAD

on Tue May 08, 2018 8:32 pm
GOALKEEPERS

Diego Ortiz: The man, the myth, the legend himself. Diego was first sighted in Fifa 15 and was picked up as a young Spanish GK who did not have particularly great potential (never made it beyond 75+) but his ability felt like a GK years above his level. Slim, quick on his toes and with cat-like reflexes, Ortiz will go down as the most decorated keeper in Yeovil's history.

Alex Smithies: Smithies was first sighted during Fifa 10 and proceeded to follow in Fifa 11, 12 and 13. He was ear-marked as a Keeper who had a very high potential should you stick with him to allow him to grow. He was always one of the first signings made and whilst his appearances diminished in favour of younger Keepers, he rightfully belongs in the all-star squad!

DEFENDERS

Alfaro Ligero: Developed in Fifa 15, Ligero developed into a powerful RB over many seasons at the club. The Spaniard, with his beach blond hair and disgusting pace became a main stay in the team and a fan favourite. Favouring his left foot, it allowed him to occassionally cut inside and go for goal himself.

Marlon Hirsch: Another player from Fifa 15, Marlon Hirsch never actually played for the Yeovil first team. You might raise some eyebrows at this, but he was in fact a youth product that spent a handful of years in the clubs academy. He was deemed not good enough and was eventually released. However, over a few seasons, the young German developed in an absolute powerhouse rated in the 80's. Whilst he didn't represent Yeovil at the highest level, he was a product of our academy and will always be fondly remembered as the one that got away.

Philip Washausen: Fifa 15 saw the development of German born Washausen. Fans will remember him for being a 6' 6" titan standing tall in the middle of the defence, the man dominated every opponent he came up against. He was the muscle. Surprisingly, did not score that many goals from set pieces.

Terry Williams: Williams was the brains to the muscle. The young Englishman developed a brilliant relationship with Washausen to form a formidable defensive partnership that would eventually conquer Europe. With a World Cup winners medal to his name, multiple league titles and a CL medal, Terry became the most decorated player in Yeovil Town history. With Washausen to his left, Ligero to his right and Ortiz to his rear, the combined 4 players represented the most iconic defence in the history of the club.

Zoet: The young dutchman will be remembered as the man who would deputise between the main core of CB's in Fifa 15. He arguably had the most potential out of all of the defenders at the club but was never able to fully reach that level. He will be fondly remembered as another in the line of the golden generation of youth academy products that will likely never again be replicated.

Nathan Smith: Ah, Nathan. He first became Mr. Dependable in Fifa 09 and carried that through til Fifa 11. When he returned to the club in 2014, he remained the go to LB every single year. The man will go down as an icon and warrants a statue built in his honour. Though his time might soon be coming to an end, he will always be remembered as the man to beat at left fullback.

MIDFIELDERS

Will Cullen: To many, Will Cullen will remain an enigma. He was not gifted, he did not specialise in any error and was by all accounts, a Stoke City level midfielder (a club who he went on to represent, before returning to the club a few seasons later). He was mostly used as a substitute and as part of the reserve team, will provided a real drive to the team that was rarely emulated by anyone else. His greatest claim to fame one of the scorers during England's World Cup final penalty shoot-out. We all need a Will Cullen in our team.

Pereira Da Silva: Da Silva is a man for the newer generation of fans. First sighted in Fifa 18, Da Silva is a young Brazilian who arrived on loan from Barcelona. Playing as a CM, he has a real talent for finding the final pass. In 2 seasons he achieved the record amount of assists in the league and he did so in style. Probably the most exciting CM in the clubs history.

Bouka-Moutou: Bouka-Moutou is one for the old school fan. He was a rock in the 2015 midfield and provided a real presence in the middle of the pitch. Chipping in with the occasional goal, he would mostly run for 90 minutes regardless of how far apart the games were. He was never dislodged and was one of the first names on the team sheet!

x Kobylanski: The greatest CDM in the clubs history. The young CB from Poland was discovered as a DM by forced hand. But once he tried it, he never looked back. Never has a DM been felt as much as 'Koby' and it is unlikely that his ability will be replicated. Deserves his place for ability alone.

WINGERS

Cesar Vinicio Pereira Junior: There will never be enough words to explain the impact of young Cesar. One of the greatest players to have graced the game. He will never be emulated and his impact will never be matched by another. The young Brazilian of the class of 15 found his way to the club from Barcelona, developed from a Winger into a Striker and forever conquered whoever he came up against. He broke every goal record imaginable. His blistering pace would see him drift infield from the right, drop any defender who would try to tackle him and would put the ball into the back of the net beyond the reach of the Gk time and time again. Yet, the greatest crime was being snubbed by his national team for most of his career. He's like a rainbow!

Giorgi Chanturia: Giorgi the Georgian. From the class of Fifa 12. He was picked up as a man who was a budget, inverted Ronaldo (RW, left foot). He returned to the club time after time and was forever a threat down the right hand side. He will always be remembered as the man to have scored one of the most memorable goals in the clubs history. The keeper quickly distributed the ball to the right flank (standing around the RB area) and he carried the ball with both pace and skill, creating a slow bending arch towards the opposition goal, beating numerous players before finessing into the top corner. Amazing

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting: Similar to Giorgi, Eric found himself as a mainstay in the team as a ST. He also belongs in the goal Hall of Fame for scoring the most sweetly (and first in our history) struck bicycle kick you will ever see (supplied by Chanturia). The Striker really established himself in our history through years of graft and should never be over-shadowed by strikers that followed. Along with Giorgi and Park Jun-Tae, the trio warrant a combined statue to reflect all they have done for the club.

Federico Barrios: Barrios was basically the anti-Pereira. Where he was Brazilian, he was from Argentina. Where Cesar was a LW, Barrios was a RW. Cesar short; Barrios tall. He was forever in his shadow, but Barrios pathed his own history. The man from the bench. Whereas Cesar would set the up in the first half, Barrios would knock them over when coming on in his place. He also spent some time on loan at fellow Premier League side Chelsea, where he made an appearance against us. Barrios belongs in our hall of fame.

FORWARDS

Ronan Psyché: Fifa 18 Frenchman has been one of the most exciting forwards to have emerged since the class of 15. Like others before him, he does not have a high potential. Will likely struggle to his the 80's. But that does not matter. His touch in front of goal has never been matched beyond Cesar. 2 footed and deadly, Ronan is worth the hype. Already in the current season, not even January, he has registered 20 goals and leads the league by some margin. Being so young, the future can only get brighter.

Per Verner Hestad: The original. Per was the man who started everything. He arrived in Fifa 10 as a young ST from Norway. He was the complete Target Man. His legacy was short lived but his impact will always be remembered. The most exciting prospect of the legends squad is seeing just how far he can now go.

Park Jun-Tae: Secretly, Park might just have been the most complete physical machine who graced the game. He boasted 99 speed and stamina. His technical ability may have left something to be desired, but it did not matter. He could basically run the ball into the net and no one could catch him. Having him from the bench basically meant at least 1 goal. Park Jun-Tae, the super-sub.
